“I’ve been volunteering at GOA for over 3 years. For the last year, I’ve been working with our special needs goats in Lawson’s Barn. I help the special needs babies get ready for the day by assisting with their prostheses and carts. I love all of their unique personalities and watching all of their relationships form and blossom. The animals really love the volunteers and staff, and love to show affection. It’s truly the most magical place!”

“Three years ago, a good friend asked me to stop by the sanctuary to check out the animals, and it's truly been a love affair with the animals here ever since. Spending a couple of hours with them once or twice a week, cleaning out their stalls and interacting with them, helps you see for yourself that farm animals are no different in intelligence than your pets at home. Try it out, and I'm sure you'll end up loving every minute there as well!”

“My volunteer days at GOA are the best part of my week. It truly is a sanctuary, a place of peace and joy. Every life is valued here, and every animal is special and loved. Best of all, I get paid in snuggles, nudges, and kisses.”

“Volunteering at GOA has been the wisest and most gratifying choice I have ever made. It provides the perfect balance to my work/life stress, it’s a great workout, and I’ve met the most amazing people. Plus, nothing is more satisfying than admiring a freshly cleaned stall! Interacting with the animals is the absolute best part. They aren’t exactly helpful, and their lack of personal space hinders the cleaning process…but the unconditional love and fun interactions make it so worth it. The only downside is not being here everyday!”

“Volunteering at Goats of Anarchy is nothing short of fantastic. The goats are so friendly and full of life. I love watching them try to ‘help’ clean up and then sitting with them at the end of the day.”

“I’ve been a volunteer at GOA for two years. I started as a sub for a friend, and on my first day I asked if I could be a regular. GOA is such a special place. All of the animals touch your heart immediately, and I miss them so much in between volunteer sessions. I feel the greatest joy just getting to interact with these resilient beings, and knowing how personally and deeply all of the animal caregivers care about the animals brings me so much hope. I also love the work, the quiet of working in the Big Barn, the physicality of cleaning the stalls, the fresh smell of the hay. I LOVE Mondays now!!!!”

“Arriving to the gorgeous sanctuary for the first time a year and a half ago felt like pure joy. The love of the animals and staff is visible. These little goats and babies inspired me to fight my best fight in life, for sure. My very first visit, I left there and absolutely stopped eating meat and began my personal plant-based journey. Before that, I'd never had such an opportunity to be so near these types of animals. The love, trust and warmth that radiates from them changed me. Over the last few years, GOA has become a sanctuary to me, as well. I love to leave my regular work week behind and get a little dirty with the babies there!”

“I’ve been volunteering at Goats of Anarchy for three years, and every day I work here is rewarding. I love helping animals in need, whether it’s giving haircuts (like in this picture), cleaning or just giving them treats. I’ve seen goats make the journey from being completely paralyzed to walking and running without the help of a wheelchair, and it’s so satisfying and inspiring to watch. Because most of the animals that come to GOA have been neglected or abused, my favorite thing about being at GOA is having the ability to comfort them throughout their journey. The animals are so forgiving, and I love being a part of GOA.”
